School of Medicine

Ardabil School of Medical Sciences was established in 1993 in a building adjacent to the Boo ali Educational and Medical Center and began admitting students in the fields of medicine, nursing, midwifery, and laboratory sciences. By the end of 1993, the school was restructured to form Ardabil University of Medical Sciences (ArUMS), expanding its academic programs each year.

In 1995, the university moved to a new location (Daneshgah St., near Shourabil Lake), and its academic offerings were provided through the Schools of Medicine, Paramedical Sciences, Health, Nursing, and Midwifery. In early 2006, the School of Health was separated from the School of Medicine and was subsequently promoted to a separate school. The Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery was also relocated in 2011 from the complex of the School of Medicine and Paramedical Sciences to a new location.
