Ardabil (Location) 

Ardabil is a city in northwestern Iran, serving as the capital of Ardabil Province. With its famous mineral waters (spa) and advanced hydrotherapy complexes, beautiful pastures, dense forests, promenades and various antiquities, the most famous of which is the tomb of Sheikh Safi Aldin Ardabili, this province annually attracts millions tourists from different parts of Iran and the world.

Sheikh Safi al-Din Khānegāh and Shrine Ensemble is the tomb of Sheikh Safi-ad-din Ardabili located in Ardabil, Iran. In 2010, it was registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This monument is situated in the Ali-Ghapu area.This large complex includes many parts including the tombs of Sheikh Safi al-Din, the leader and the founder of Safavid order. The Safavid order was the base of Safavid rule during the 7th century. Also, Shah Ismail’s body, the first king of the Safavid dynasty, lies in this complex, a Chini-Khaneh (chines house: Safavid chines dishes were used to be kept here), the Janat-Sara Mosque, a Khanqah (a building designed specifically for gatherings of a Sufi brotherhood or tariqa), a Cheleh-Khaneh, a Shahid- Khaneh and a Cheragh- Khaneh.

             Chini-khane-Museum

The designer of this part was Sheikh Bahaei, who was one of the most famous scientists of Safavid Era. This museum is a hall comprised of four king rooms and arched room. For building this museum, colorful mogharnas and nice Islamic design have been used. This museum has high resistant to earthquake which is an interesting point

Another natural and amazing attraction of the province is the Sabalan Mountain. The Sabalan Mountain is the most famous silent volcano in Iran after Damavand. Its peak with a height of 4811 meters is one of the most beautiful peaks in the world. The volcanic and funnel-shaped of the peak is a beautiful lake covered with snow and ice throughout the year.

The Spectacular and amazing lakes of the province include Shurabil () , Neor, Shurgol, Alucheh Kamiabad, Mullah Ahmad, and Qarahsoo swamp; and its most important rivers are Aras (Araz), Qarasu, Darrehroud, Khiavchai, Namin Chai, Qutorsuei, Ghezel Ozan and Gilvan.
